Op date

ive had my pre op letter for Thursday 14th April and another letter telling me to go to ward on 24th June not saying what for or not telling me if I need to take anything just turn up at 8.45 I mean if it's for op wouldn't it tell me not to eat ect as its a Friday or do next day  would I have op on that day bit confused lol, other thing if it was my op I'm going on hol 8 weeks after would I be ok to go as don't want to cancel. .?

    they should tell you all this info at your pre assessment on 14th April,i would assume that 24th June is your operation date but the nurses will tell you this for sure at the pre op....i would ask about your hol,we all recover differently,i am 9 weeks post op and i feel well enough to travel but you would have to check with gp and insurance company cos you will be higher risk of a DVT cos you will be 8 weeks post op..

      Thank you I will do that with gp and I'm not going abroad on hol just to an I island in this country so only a little 10 min flight which is good, think I'm going to phone hospital this morning for more information x

    Well I would ring up and find out what's going on sounds like you having it done in the morning you should be OK after 8 weeks as I went back to work after 8 weeks

    Hi, your probly best ringing the number on your letter, its normally the surgeons secretary who deals with all the appointments and they'll be able to answer your queries hun..if your in doubt about your hols 8wks after it may be worthwhile asking for a telephone consult with the surgeon for advice..good luck hun xx
