Any advice? also could I have over done it and caused injury? MY wound opened up slightly a few days after tiny bit both sides . (healed beautifully) overall not too bad considering.

    hi

the bleeding is normal as i am bleeding now day 5 & on holiday with a lot of clots at times its quite murderous!!!

did your doctors advise you to take the pill even now after operation? your body/uterus has to heal it will hurt, use pain relief ibrofen or paracetamol which is gentle on the tummy. The wound what are you using for your scar?

So I'm week 3 I had the discussion I took a break its half pill or mini pill . But started to bleed about 5 days ago and the doctor at hospital said to see how I go without but I could go back on if I wanted or see whether it made a difference.

So I decided to go back on. I discussed it with the GP an hour ago she said hormones are readjusting also area inside is healing so your first period post surgery will be heavier. She also said if it got to much and didnt lighten I would need A and E for scan. or she could prescribe Tranzamic acid for heavy bleeding.

You are 5 days ,If your soaking pads and passing huge clots over an hour it considered a potential bleed post op. please get blood tests and make sure your not over doing it lifting etc you shouldn't be lifting anything past a kettle of full water. monitor your wound I've been massaging it. no bio oil etc at this stage . I had closed stitch so I've been showering. Please rest as u can and eat really good food to help your body heal hun. Vegetables and high sources protien and iron. also If you start craving like nuts or something listen to your body. Continue to take pain relief especially anti inflammatories as helps inner layers to heal. If your concerned about size and amount clots and flooding talk to GP your only week 1 post surgery. hope this helped u 🤗😊

How are you doing now? I'm about yo have an open myomectomy. My MD only wants to give me Tramadol 50 mg and a prescription strength NSAID.

    I'm worried about pain management.

What were you prescribed? And how painful was it?

i am feeling good, i am 4 months post myomectomy. the tramadol is normal, is a very very strong opiate and pain killer, it is addictive, manage your pain relief, i decided to take tramadol only at night so i can sleep and recover. I didnt take tramadol during the day, i managed the pain by taking sofer painkillers during the day.

i am not going to lie - it is painful, they will do a c- section, & go through layers of muscles, tissues nerves, it will hurt but it will pass! By managing your pain killers and its relief. I hope this has been helpful.

I was advised to take regular pain relief at least 3 weeks post op to help with healing especially anti inflammatory medicine. for the inside edges to heal properly.I would advise that for anyone going to surgery and regular laxatives to keeps things moving and no straining. as this can really screw things up ,causing you to strain and during first 3 weeks this can cause major issues like wound pressure inside and out. I'm week 4 feeling way better but still struggling with tiredness. But I have been told 8 weeks.

till I go and start looking for work.

I want to say this Its a process take time one day at a time, listen to what your body needs . eat healthy ,high protein, fiber and iron .sugar causes inflammation. Don't be in a rush, the first week an a half make sure you have help or stay somewhere. It ok to need help.

Be aware you may have good day and then a bad day and emotionally you may not be yourself again reach out. Let people love on u. 🤗😊

I was literally bleeding for two months straight after my myomectomy. I initially didn't want to go back on the pill, but when I got my period about 6 weeks after the surgery and it was AWFUL--just as bad, if not worse than how my periods were before the surgery--the doctor told me to go back on it. The pill at least calmed the flow down, but I still wouldn't stop bleeding. I'm now on a regimen where I only take the placebo pills every 3 months--I skip the placebo and go directly to the next pack of pills between then. My periods have been so light since then and I'm not gonna complain--it's really nice to only have my period every 3 months!
