Operated knee warmer than other.

Still got a rash which Ive had almost since the operation about 5 months ago in November. My operated knee feels MUCH warmer to the touch than the other one. Anybody at or near the same stage feel the same? I wondered if this is normal or if it is significant. Anything wrong?

Hi I'm 11 days post op after a patrical knee replacement, and I did not know how many different things would happen as a result of this op. My operated knee is always vey warm, very stiff, and swells a lot. Having spoken to several nurses they have advised this is quite normal and it could take 12 months plus to completely settle down. I guess this is the way now.

My main problem is sleeping in bed, I am unable to get comfortable and find the sofa a much better place to sleep.

if you are worried about this please contact your GP or consultant.

I am having my staples removed Friday and more worried about this than I was the operation.

      Hi Jackie

Thanks for your reply but due to unforseen circumstances I wasnt able to reply to you. Sorry. Im sure you found the removal of staples easier than you thought. Still very early days for you Jackie, hope you are ok. Regarding sleeping I found it difficult also, but put a small bed downstairs even though I could get upstairs with difficulty.

Once again sorry for not getting back. I feel awful about that but I leave my computer at home when I go anywhere and have been out a lot. Dont do internet on mobile but once again thanks for your reply when you were so close to your own surgery. Hope things are a little easier Jackie.

      John.
