Hi,
I was recently diagnosed with Cholesteatoma. I was speaking with a relative over the telephone when blood came from my left ear. I was worried and he told me I needed help. I spoke to the GP and the GP said nothing to worry about it is just an infection. The Doc gave me anti-biotics for 2 years. And still told me that bleeding and headaches where nothing to be concerned about. The anti-biotics stopped working and the ear became more aggressive with discharge and headaches and constant bleeding. My Mam got in touch with the GP and said look this is getting worse do something. They agreed that it was time to act but it was too late as COVID-19 had taken over the world and closed all the ENT units. I had to wait another year 2021 and I seen a ENT specialist. The guy said it was tragic inside my ear and it had gone through 3 bones as to which now need replacing. He then told me that I had 4-6 months to live at best. I undergone a CT scan that showed it was 1 stop away from the temple bone but fortunately the infection was just sitting there ready to act at a later date. My life was ripped from me and I didn't cope with all the news and or appointments. I am also Agoraphobic fear of going out. So on top of my general life I had this to cope with. I am now due an operation Next Friday 16th and I am petrified of the entire thing. Not only that but the fear of leaving my home with my complex mental health problems too. I isn't coping with any of this at all. So folks you have headaches and you have bleeding tell your GP and tell them no joke you want an ENT specialist at once. Don't allow to happen what I did because my GP made my head far worse than it should of been by sitting there doling out Tablets to treat a nasty thing like this. BTW I am def in my Left ear now I just hear ringing it doesnt bother me all that much TBH just the problems like the Ringing and the headaches that are nasty at times.
