I only knew one day ahead that I was having an emergency TAH and I was really excited... not at all scared or nervous. 3 weeks later and I'm feeling great! All the best to you!

Well here I am two days after op and I am home. It went great. They took uterus and cervic and left my ovaries. They did say I didn't have any fibroids which is a bit frustrating as that is what docs were treating me for. They took a cyst that has been on my right ovary for as long as I can remember and were going to send it and the uterus off to be checked. The morphine was wonderful but made me a bit light headed. I thought my surgery was morning so I didn't eat anything after 7pm Thurs got to hospital at 930am they then told me I had afternoon surgery and did I have a light breakfast which of course I didn't but could drink water til 1130am. I went to operating room at 3pm it took 3 1/2 hours for me nothing wrong just that is how long it took. I had no pain that night or Sat. morning but I now realize it was because of the morphine. Still after I stop taking it I felt like I had severe cramps.I didn't eat a meal until Sat. night as it took that long for drugs to get out of my system. I am on paracetamol but don't need anything strong. I have dissolvable stitches and a structure. No gas pains but then I haven't eaten enough food yet. But man do I feel good. I didn't expect to be home so soon nor did I expect to be in so little pain. My best tip drink lots of water before surgery eat light meals leading up to op and get up and move as soon as possbile. I am now off to sleep I will post and let all know the progress

That's fantastic news, I also had my operation on a Thursday afternoon and came home on Sunday morning. I had my bits sent for biopsy and all came back fine as I'm sure yours will. Yes I couldn't agree with you more, move around little and often. I found on me being home a few days I was very weepy, they say this is normal so if you do don't worry. Great to hear op went well. I forgot to say before I had to completely empty my bladder at hospital second try I was good. Rocking back and forth and just sitting there really helped though I felt with all the water I drank that it would just pour out. The doc was happy to let me go home without a bowel movement but wanted to make sure I was passing wind which I would only do on the toliet but because of no food for three days I don't imagine I will be going until later in the week. I am managing my stairs just fine but do have my husband's stairlift if I need it. I am stuipd tired but doing really well. I have to go back to the ward on Wed morn to get a structure out But am thrilled with how well I feel right now

Day 4 after op and day 2 at home. Had a bm today was very hard but I got through out. The position they tell you to go in I guess helped but I still had to have help. Had a shower and doing well. I haven't had any bleeding and my scar is got some stuff coming off it but nothing like I expected. I have been sleeping on my side since the night of the surgery which is best for me as I have a bad back. My biggest problem is I'm not hungry forcing myself to eat breakfast and lunch but just can't manage dinner. Still so shocked I didn't have a bunch of fibroids but I reckon I am doing well because of it.

Day 5 feeling good. Dressed today. Going out for a walk outside today. My wound is looking so good I started wanting to pick things up which I have to constantly remind myself not to do. Still not very hungry and have lost nearly 10lbs since op. But nurse says once all the drugs come out of my system my appetite will come back. I love weight watchers meals and can only eat half of one. But drinking loads of water sleep not as great just cant get a comfy spot for long though I am still sleeping on my side.
