Hi Karen, I’m day 3 post op, vaginal hysterectomy and posterior prolapse. I made sure I ate very healthily, before, in hospital (I took my own fibre filled food) and at home. My op went very well, I was out in less than 24 hrs as I came off the morphine after a few hours (it made me feel and be sick) and I felt great.
I can cough without feeling I need to pee myself (I had an anterior prolapse, which got pulled up when they stitched the hysterectomy up) and pee properly. I’ve been overactive with pooing as I overdid the fibre and fruit! But, it has made it easy to go and it just moves right on out, no hard push, no sitting in a pouch. I tell you, I can feel the benefits of this already!
Main problem i have is trying not to do too much! No painkillers now, very little bleeding, not having that terrible tiredness that others have. Hoping it never hits me! As I said, I eat very healthily, very little dairy, no meat, a little fish (if I know the source), no refined or processed foods. I’m positive this has helped my recovery, along with a Positive Mental Attitude of course.
You will I’ll be fine, embrace the new improved body, enjoy the first normal poo! I even felt a bit horny today, something I haven’t for a while! 😳 but that will have to wait!
All the best. 👍🤞😊🙏
