Ive been to the optician today Bout the flashing in my eye. He was lovely and found a very small bleed at the back. He said the gel inside my eye is starting to come away and when it foes it pulls on the retina which causes the flashing. Hes 99% sure its not going to get any worse but hes going to write to the hospital to tell them what hes found and they will probably be in contact with me in the next few days to see if they want to laser the bleed or just leave it to do its own thing.
Im really scared and upset.
I saw what my dad went through with his retinal detachement and i cant do that. Im scared its going to get worse over time and im going to lose my sight and wont see my beautiful little girl as she grows older

Be very very careful about doing a retinal laser procedure. Dont panic or be scared, because you need to think straight before you permit any retinal laser near your eyes. I, along with others, have had bad results from retinal laser procedures.
You can search on this site for "white flickering lights after a laser for a retinal tear", or look at my facebook page using the same search criteria. You can also messsge me here or join my facebook page. the key message is make them take retinal pics first and show the tear, bleeding, then if you agree to the procedure make sure its not in your field of view because trust me its a nightmare with the flickering lights issue ans it cannot be undone.
You can step up your doctor visits as well - don't rush into any procedure. Note that one of the risks of a retinal laser procedure is a retinal detachment, so it has detachments as its own risk. again be careful.

First of all I would not trust an optician to make a diagnosis on my eyes, I would need to see an opthalmologist to be sure. A vitreous detachment is different from a retinal detachment so don't panic, just try and see an opthalmologist as soon as possible to get a proper diagnosis. I am very myopic and have had posterior vitreous detachments loads of times, still no retinal detachments to this day. Don't do anything high impact like bungee jumping, parachuting or contact sports as they put up your risk.
