Hi Josephine. How are you treating it? Is it on your cheeks or gums or tongue? All over?

I am also fighting erosive LP. Although I have had it everywhere in my mouth, the worst is on my tongue. Some days are the pits. Yesterday was better (not as painful) which gives me hope. All foods bother when I eat but definitely trying to stay away from acidic and spicy and hot temperature foods. Today I am purchasing HELLO kids toothpaste with fluoride as my Sensidyne stings like crazy when I use it so haven't been using any toothpaste, just brush.

I am being treated by an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist who diagnosed it right away. I have had symptoms since September but had to find the right doc to figure out what is going on.

My first visit he prescribed a topical steroid which didn't help my mouth but it did help with the burning in my throat.

My second appoint he injected a time release steroid into the "angriest" of the ulcers on my tongue. It actually helped that ulcer but I have about 7 or 8 others that are worrisome.

I have my third appointment in a couple of weeks. He mentioned a biopsy which I'm not looking forward to but now that steroids seem to be in my future, I want to make sure it is LP and not cancer.

Seems like there should just be some kind of mouth rinse or antibiotic or something that helps.

I joined this forum hoping to find someone to visit with since no one I know has even heard of this crazy disease.

    Take care!
