i was treated by oral specialist afterseeing primary care, dentist, then ENT SPECIALIST who refered me to oral medicine at brigham and womens in boston, 4 weeks on dexamethasone oral rinse 3 times a day , 95% improvement. ON 1 rinse aday if symptoms come back. So happy with treatment

    hi , i see you have found the answer to OLP for you that is brilliant, i have to visit my oral specialist on tuesday next so i was wondering if you could say what dose details are , i know from your letter it is a rinse what strength ect, so as i can tell my Surgeon..thank you so much for posting, i am suffering seven years now....Teresa.

      sorry just saw your note. My dr. ordered dexamethasone .5 mg/ 5 ml. liquid, saline or water, dont know, i took it 3 times a day , held it in my mouth swishing for 5 min. each time then spit it out. nothing to eat or drink for 15 min. I did that for 4 weeks with great improvement. My pain scale for mouth pain went from 8-10 to 1-2, increasing only while eating or rinsing. good luck...SIS

      just a thought whileyou are waiting, my ENT specialist told me to get a small spray bottle with salt water,and just spray for some moderate relief until my appointment which took 6 weeks to get. TOOK the edge off somewhat.
