    Hi Karen

Just joined the site as I had a TIA a week ago. I know exactly how you feel about the MRI but what I was advised to do was to wear an eye mask! It was wonderful as my arms were by my sides and even when I opened my eyes I couldn't see the top of the machine and so wasn't claustrophobic! It was like magic! Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks. I'm still feeling vulnerable and rather scared but I'm doing as told, taking the blood pressure medication and being very calm! (Not easy for me!) In fact when I stay calm I don't feel so dizzy!

      Surprise, surprise! x

Ah I know how you are feeling, I still feel like that although I now have moments where I forget about it then all of a sudden I have sheer panic and dizziness, sets upon me, it doesn't always help reading these posts, because  people say about having more etc, I don't like the after effects tho, I feel they last a lot longer than 24 hours, Although I feel a lot of my problems are Anxiety, I feel my face is going numb and my arm is tingling, I think I make it worse with anxiety,I keep thinking I'm going to have another one, I am back at work now so that helps, hope you feel better soon xxxx

Well done going back to work.

Anxiety is a dreadful thing and not understood by anyone who hasn't had it. I find that I have to tell myself that the anxiety and panic are but fleeting and if I take a few huge breaths, they will go away. I have come to understand that like you I am just an anxious person, it makes me who I am and I can't change it. I have however learn't over the years that I can control it and not it control me! Hey ho................... easier said than done but gets easier in time! Thanks for your words of comfort re the TIA. Now my BP is looking better I'm hoping that my fluffy head will follow suit. Have a good day. Cheers. x
