I am not sure if she is hiv plus.  I asked her 10 times she told me that she is not. Do you think I can get hiv through this. It's now 13 days, though I don't have sore throat fever or any other syep tom but very stressed since some body told me that bj without condom can also result in hiv. Please guide me. When shd i go for hiv test. I am married and with my wife and kids what precaution shd i take.

Hi, An HIV infection from the activity you have described above is possible, but not likely. Other curable STI's are more possible from Oral sex. It is impossible to know anyone elses HIV or STD status. So, to be sure,  get tested. The average suggested  test times,  after contact, are 60 and 90 days. Some strains have been said to show, up to 1 yr, but that is RARE.. Try not to stress about this, as the activity you described has been said to be a low risk contact for HIV.  Do Not try to diagnose yourself via the internet it will only cause undue worry and many times HIV shows no symptoms for years anyway. Speak with a Doctor, or clinic in your area that speialises in STD testing, they are the pros and can answer many questions and concerns and will also set an appointment for testing.. For precautions check out www.aids.gov  it seems to be an informative site. Good Luck and always Play Safe..

Hi.  Good avice from Matt - it is simply not worth the stress and the tests will give conclusive, re-assuring evidence (I'm sure).  As Matt says;  play safe but don't mess up your wife (and particularly your children's) futures

As others say "do not stress". In UK [according to a recent Guardian article] there are some 130000 people living with HIV/AIDS. A large proportion [say 50000] will be men who ahve sex with men.  Many others will be from sub-Saharan Africa.

I would guess that sex workers get tested regularly and safe sex will protect them and you from infection. It's their livelihood after all
