Orange grease - don't read whilst eating your tea!

Posted , 5 users are following.

Hello just wondering if someone could help. When I first started taking orlistat I had the dreaded orange grease when I went to the toilet however it seems to have stopped and my poos are normal (sorry) and I don't seem to be losing any weight.  I'm eating less than 5g of fat, should I be having more fat in my diet??

Any help would be really appreciated

Sorry if it was too much information 😝

Hi that is all good. You won't get the orange oil because you are eating the right things. You got the orange oil because it was probably flushing out what fat was in your system before you took the tablets. How long have you been on them?

Only a week - I know it's really soon I was just expecting to suffer with the orange grease much more than I have

No you will only get the orange oil if you eat too much fat and if the oil is gone that means you are eating right! Stick with it you may not notice any weight loss for a couple of weeks but it will be worth it the early days are tough but keep with it

Upto 15g of fat per meal time anything over and whoops as I found out yesterday and it was 6 times to the loo, almost didn't make it, never again will I go overboard with the fat 15g of fat or under no more.............costs a fortune in toilet roll too !!!! Lol

Hiya. It's not just 15g of fat it's 15g of fat per meal but not over 5g per 100g each item else if you eat high fat you will be on the loo!!!

If no side effects you're doing it right. Give it a few weeks to hit your system. X

    Hi there

I was precribed Orlistat last week and haven't taken any yet because I'm scared! I often have loose bowels anyway and just scared of not getting to the loo in time!
