Orlistat - not working / no side effects?!

Posted , 3 users are following.

I've been taking Orlistat for 4 days now and have had no side effects at all - no loose stools, no oil, no weight loss, just.... nothing! Did anyone else experience this? Strangely when i took Alli the non prescription version last year, I definitely had all the side effects so am now starting to wonder if what I've been given is legit! (generic Orlistat instead of Xenical). I don't tend to eat high fat meals anyway - all my weight gain has been because of anti depressant medication - but I'm still eating some and would expect to notice SOMETHING?! Would love to hear anyone else's experiences!

    Hi!

I'm on day three and also have no side effects? I was so scared to start taking them! Although I weighed myself today and it said - 2lbs so I hoping for a good result on Monday 🙂

Hey JollyJ - well, I certainly got what I asked for! On day 5 I had ALL the side effects. I mean, it was AWFUL and I had to stop taking them. I don't even eat a high fat diet (no cakes, sweets, fried foods) and I literally couldn't even leave the house, I just had all day "leakage". and ended up needing to throw away a lot of underwear! How to people actually live on the medication? Oh and I also didn't lose a single pound despite spending 4 days attached to the toilet. It wasn't for me - I am planning to try Victoza / Saxenda (Liraglutide) next. How did you get on with Orlistat so far?

I do not think that side effects are supposed to happen for everyone. Side effects are common, but not everyone has them when taking medication. I am one of the fortunate you, and it seems so are you.
