Hi vickei,
I too have been recently diagnosed with early stages of osteoarthritis in my spine and neck. It radiates to my shoulders. My rheumatologist has given me Zacin cream to rub into my shoulders but I've only been on it a few days so I don't know if it is going to help. What I do know is that I have to apply it with rubber gloves because it doesn't seem to wash off. I found that out when I tried putting my contact lenses in and my eyes felt like they were on fire because of the chilli content. I am going to start physiotherapy also, rheumatologist arranging it. Has your doctor suggested that to you? I've had my stiff and aching neck for seven months now so I'm hoping this cream will make a difference. It doesn't agree with everyone though. I've also reduced my three pillows to two and that has helped. I take anadin extra because anything else makes me feel ill.
I hope you find a solution, if you do please let me know.
Best wishes

Hi Vickei,
I really wish I had an answer for you. I've tried all kinds of meds, but unfortunately I seem to be allergic to most of them.
I have OA and RA also Spondylitis and have been given steroid injections in both hips, knees, shoulders, feet, back, hand etc and they do help for a while, but I am never without pain of some sort.
Have a word with your doctor or whoever diagnosed the OA and maybe they can help control the pain a little. Good luck.
