Liz, are you sure you have oseoporosis?  I was told the same thing in October, but not given my T score.  When I finally persuaded someone to release that strangely secretive information to me I found out I was merely "osteopenic".  I had already turned down fairly vigorous suggestions by my doctor that I should take a bisphosphonate but frankly I'd rather have spongy bones than risk the side effects.  I don't believe I will end up with spongy bones, however, as I have learned so much about natural and side-effect free strategies for building bone density and after developing a protocol for dealing with this new and rather terrifying disease of "low bone mass" I have to say I am feeling better than I have for a long time.  I thnk what I am doing for my bones is helping the pmr as well. 😊

So glad to know you just have osteopenia and to know all you are doing to help yourself!

We have the same health condition.

For quite a long time I was diagnosed and hopefully with the help if my great specialist and my determination on following his treatment I keep in good shape regarding my bones inspite having hypothyroidism and now Temporal Arteiritid whose treatments are not friendly to the bones! I have a positive attitude - as my specialists say, this is a must!

      Keep well as you are!

Do not let this stop you from doing what you want to - you might as well lay down and die otherwise. LIVE and have FUN! Those grandkids are more important than anything else in the world. You are making memories for them.
