Osteoporosis and COPD

I suffer from osteoporosis in my back and am just getting over a COPD flare up. Through coughing so much I pulled all the muscles in my upper body. I know it will take time for them to heal but I am in agony

Can anyone suggest a painkiller that will dull the pain in my back as I am not able to stand up properly without support. Will my osteoporosis become manageable again? I take K2 and vit D daily.

    Hi dear,

I was and still am in the same situation as yourself.

My mistake was taking painkillers that not only didn't help me,but gave me stomach ache and robbed my bones of more calcium.

I suggest you try magnesium oil or cream from black Oman.

Some use this small vietnamis creams with camfor for cold on the back.

Sea salt mixed with pork fat helps too.

BTW if you cought too much take a small bowl of black olives and slowly suck on them ...it will calm your cough.

As far as getting better I hope you will.

My progress hasn't been big because I wasted too much time on painkillers.

    Best wishes

BTW if your pain is really bad take Aulin or even Tramadol.

Tramadol is quite narcotic I hated the feeling but it gave relief after my surgery.

Does your Gp support you well. Or practise nurse ???Sounds silly but talk to them. Tell them how much pain your in and get your painkillers prescribed

Ps Fern try heat pads. Hot water bottles to help those muscles as well

Hi Angie, have a heat pad on and also using a rub over the rest of my back.

Due to call the Dr's tomorrow to let them know how my flare up is doing with the second course of AB's, so will ask for some pain relief for my back. Have been taking paracetamol.

My GP prescribed Oramorph (liquid morphine) for my fractured spine after a month of trying to cope with just paracetamol and ibuprofen it really made a huge difference and didn't make me dopey (no more than usual anyway!)
