I've been having that problem for about a week now (almost 5 weeks post-op). I've been getting very sharp, stabbing pains in my top hip bone when I sit or lie down. I can also feel the gizmo inside. It doesn't hurt, but feels heavy and sometimes when I move it feels weird... Hope I haven't broken it already. I hate breaking new stuff...

      hi lee,

I swear I can feel the hardware inside at times too - and I have a BIG layer of "skin" around the hips/belly ... I don't think you broke it - if so, you would probably not writing about it ...

all part of the healing process -

      big warm hug

Lee I think we are the same in terms of time ~ and it is interesting you mentioned the odd stabbling sensation I am too experiencing that. I don't think we have broken it just yet though biggrin I hope not! Can you just imagine.......

    Morning Gertie,

I am 6 months post op and 5 weeks away from number two done. I do understand fully about post and pre hip pain and lack of sleep.

I never stay in bed as it always seems to make it worse and my wriggling around disturbs my partner who has to up for work.

I have lived with broken sleep for so long now I also give myself a round of applause for making it through the night!

My pain is from the hip waiting to be done and severe toothache is exactly how I would describe it. The pain rams through from bum cheek to groin, down the outside of my leg and into my ankle. It throbs and twitches.

I chilled out months ago about having 7 hours flat. I accept what I get and take naps when I need them in the day. My work allows a few days a week to catch up although I have been known to grab a snooze during dinner!

    Thanks guys, I knew I wasn't alone!

I did get up and took some painkillers. Got to sleep quite soon after and only just woke up! Longest I slept in ages!

your night echos mine.  i stopped all pain meds to try to relieve the nausea.  did fine until bedtime and then my hip really ached.  i suffered through it because i didn't want to get up to go for the pain med.  took some this morning though and the ache has eased.

I took some during the night which did the trick. Hope you get a better night tonight x

It is a quandary Janie sleep or sickness, sickness or pain ~ night and day. Horrible! But the pain wears off really soon for you now, you are almost at the point where you can manage without them. I felt sick in my sleep. Hiedous!
