Well said Kaz, it's so easy to find out and yet people make it so difficult.

Yes exactly....  because some doctors don't have the ability to 'truly' listen and understand what the patient describes.

A bit like a physiotherapist, who loves their job, but they don't have the real heart for some aspects of it.   Anyone can put needles in places, trained or not, anyone can massage a spot, whole area.or use aids.  BUT unless they have the right heart/feel for the job, most patients don't truly benefit much or not at all.  They come away feeling like, well that was a waste of time...  YET if they went to another Physio or treatment provider of sorts, and had the same issues addressed, they can have absolute blissful results!...  Because this Physio or treatment provider has a good feel for it, and a natural ability to zoom in on the body, after they have listened to their patient.  No half measures practised.

Been through this exercise many a time....

Reminds me of my friend that I used help.  She'd say, 'I fear you are going to leave, I don't know how I would cope without your help'.  After I had massaged her back, arms and hands so she could deep sleep more restfully for the next week or two.  She had been to the local Physio's x2, and the local advertised therapists, also one who would come to your home.  All she said would have her in tears or crippled afterward....  In Australia she had a really good Physiotherapist who would do wonders with massage to, she said you are like her, you have a 'feel' for it, and can feel how the muscles are and gauge your method and pressure.

I could relate to her issues because we had the same problem with Fibro.  So I instinctively knew how to massage to get the desired result.  However her Australian physio, wasn't a sufferer, but a dam good Treatment provider with natural ability, and heart.

I totally agree deb with everything youve said, your heart and passion has got to be in the job you do, or whats the point.if people have the right attitude passion and care for the job they do it makes all the difference to the patient. last week I had an hospital appointement nothing to do with fibr. bbut the specialist I saw is so passionate about his job but most importantly his patients the care patience understanding and explaining was just great, he so cares for each of his patients and wants the best treatment support for them. Hes an absolute gem he puts you at your ease he is very polite and curtious a rareity with some specialists. but when you have that from some one it makes all the differance. take care gentle hug

Thanks for stating the obvious although it appears to many to be more psychlogical than physical. They should really spend aday in are shoes and see how debilitating it can be. does anyone know the long term   Prognosis or has anyone experienced an improvement over time ?

    Replies most welcome.

    Kind Regards

Each every one of is affected differently by fibro. you can sometimes go into remission where your symptoms pain can go  either for a short time or sometimes even longer. no one as the answears as to why this can sometimes happen. Their is no cure for fibro as yet, your just given pain relief to help with the symptoms. some people have had this condition for over 30 years. I personally have found that my condition has worsened in the past year. The severity of fibro differs from person to person and how it affects us. everything is trial error where fibro is concerned

From listening to other peoples experiences and from my own experiences in the past. some employers just simply do not want to know. all they are interested in, is you being in work and working. By law here in the uk they are surpose to make allowences for your condition. If they dont they are breaking the law. The only people that truely understand fibro is those that have it. people just simply dont have a clue and many just dont care and want to know. I wish fibro could be on the same footing as me and ms. it deserves to be we are suffering to just like people are with other conditions. but no 1 seems to care where we are concerned. I dont discuss fibro with any one as people dont get it and many times when Ive tried explaining theyve changed the subject. at least on here we have each other for support take care gentle hug
