Outbreak or ?

SO.

I was shaving the other day ... I don't know if it's a cut or an current outbreak .

The reason why I don't think it's an outbreak is because I don't have any bumps at all .. And it doesn't burn when I urinate or nothing like that

It is a little painful when I touch in the area ..

I don't know what to call it .

Could it be an current outbreak ?

If it is it's so silent like ...and it's too late to try and take suppressive medicine but I think after I heal up from whatever it is I will definitely be getting onto it

I've had a couple of suspected recurrences, but they were also very mild, to the point where I wasn't entirely sure. Not that I'm sexually active at present, but the whole avoid sex during outbreaks business is easier said than done when you can't really tell! I'm no longer sure when an itch is just an itch or an H itch. Frustrating. Almost makes me wish I could wear an indicator light that flashes when I'm shedding, lol.

That's how I am currently feeling I can't really tell if it is a reoccurring outbreak or what .. It hurts but it's not painful painful pain like when I first had an outbreak ... And I am currently sexually involved with someone .. So I don't want to chance it .

Have you ever took suppressive medicine ?

I am coming down with a cold and woke up this morning with a swollen, tender area down below, so I suppose this is another recurrence for me, too. Sucks. I am not on any meds currently, but may consider it later. If you are sexually active, you should really be on daily meds regardless of symptoms or not. If you only take the meds to avert an outbreak, that is episodic therapy, not suppressive therapy, and does not reduce transmission, which is worse with new infections, especially during the first year. Just fyi.

I wasn't sexually active for about 2-3 months but me and my ex just recently got back together I guess you can say and it went from there ..

I always make sure we use condoms & we had sex during my first outbreak and he hasn't caught anything so I don't know if we just got lucky or what , and we have taken 3 tests so far ..

How often do you Have outbreaks ? And how long have you had this disease ? How did you get it , if you don't mind me asking .. What type ?

I have Type 2, had it for several months now, and have had several mild recurrences to date, but not linked to menstruation. More than I care to have, but at least they are very mild. I usually only notice something's up when wiping, which is why I'm almost tempted to believe they're not really recurrences, but I suspect they are! I got it from one first night of sex with a new partner, which is supposedly quite unlucky. Yay me, lol.
