Outbreak triggers and spreading on your own body?

I've read menstrul cycles can sometimes bring on an outbreak.. I'm due to start mine soon and pretty worried about it! So far I've only had one outbreak (my primary) of hsv1. Do periods cause a lot of people's outbreaks on here? Would it happen before or during? Or even after?

Also, my outbreak was only in my genital region.. Today I woke up and my right eye was completely blood shot and somewhat itchy.. I've read you can herpes of the eye.. How likely is it to spread this to other areas of your body?? Is it likely I'm having an outbreak of the eye?! Good grief so much goes with this and this is still all fairly new to me and I have no idea what to do. I'm so paranoid about every little thing on my body now.

Only way you are going to get herpes of the eye is if you touched an open sore and then rubbed your eye. I notice a few symptoms around my period but I never get an outbreak.. I've only had one outbreak in 2 years

Ocular/eye herpes is usually HSV-1. Actually, most non-oral/genital herpes is caused by Type 1. Which type do you have again? Just take care during the first 3-4 months not to touch infected areas (especially lesions) then other body parts without first handwashing. After you've built enough antibodies, autoinoculation is much less likely to occur.

Due to emergency contraception (MAP), which I took on the same day I was infected, my hormones have apparently gone mental and have been all over the place ever since. I recently started my THIRD period in the space of literally a month!! Anyway, none of this hormonal craziness has affected my GH - no additional outbreaks or related issues.

My period is coming tomorrow. My butt (where the outbreak was) has been itching me a little for the last couple days. *sigh* annoying

P.S. Apparently, there have been very few studies regarding GH and menstruation and peri/menopause, which is frustrating. However, the ones that were done regarding menstruation did not show any correlation, yet anecdotal evidence exists, so I think menstruation et al. is maybe a trigger for some, but by no means a definite one.

I also worry now about every bump, regular pimple and itch, especially if in the genital area, as I have no idea anymore what's GH or not! Really annoying and unnecessarily stressful, I must say!!
