Outer ear nerve-like pain

Posted , 3 users are following.

just started this morning. I will get very brief nerve-like pain along the outer edge of my left outer ear at irregular intervals. the pain lasts just a second but is extremely intense. THE FUNNY THING IS THAT IF I SQUEEZE MY EARLOBE HARD THE PAIN WILL STOP. AS LONG AS MAINTAIN THE PRESSURE THE PAIN STAYS AT BAY.

Any ideas?

THANKS?

Sounds like neuralgia.Your earlobe is one of the acupuncture points for stopping pain . If the pain along the outer edge of your ear becomes more intense or spreads to your face,it may be Trigeminal neuralgia. If you think this is starting then do see your doctor. Or it may just disappear on its own.

Incidentally...do you wear glasses? Are they possibly pressing on a nerve?
