Hi can anyone tell me any symptoms of ovarian cancer?  E.g.  Sharp pains in the ovary area?

    Hi,

    I am also experiencing pain and wondering if it could be something like cancer, I am going for mri scan soon. What are your symptoms?

    Often Ovarian Cancer symptoms can be very vague. Each woman has a different story prior to diagnosis. Sharp pain in the ovarian area can be due to an egg releasing once a month known as mittelschmerz (meaning in German, 'middle pain' due to the pain being in the middle of the cycle) Depending which side it is on, can even be due to an appendix flaring up. Honestly, the only way to know if it is a symptom of an ovarian cancer is to have a transvaginal ultrasound, and the blood test marker for cancer, CA125. Trying to diagnose from one suspected symptom is very difficult.
