Ovarian cancer scare
Posted , 13 users are following.
Hi there I have been suffering with stomach and pelvix pain for about 2 weeks now. Also bowel changes but think that's part of IBS. I had blood tests and doctor rang today to say CA125 levels were slightly raised. I am waiting an ultrasound but so scared it could be cancer! I read that it can show other cancers too & noticed last few days both my nipples been inverted. I've always had one but not 2.
Can anymore shred anymore, hopefully positive thoughts/advice on the CA125 levels. The pain is in pelvic area, down left hand side and around back 😔
Thanku

Hey you might feel it but we all have times when we do and what you are coping with is enough to make anyone feel like a hypercondriac. Doesn't mean what you feel is not real though and that people should be irritated by it.

Try and enjoy your holiday as a change of scene should be good for you. Don't expect miracles though but enjoy as much as can
Big hugs and my thoughts are with you

Still getting over it as only been home a week. Breathlessness better, pain has virtually gone and is getting better by the day, appetite improving again. So all in all no regrets

Hi taz hope u r feeling a bit better today
Just to let u know just saw doctor and she is saying now thathe results didn't specify cyst but cystic nature 😳 said about bit of fluid in my tube but dust seem overly concerned
I'm confused now. I'm still getting pain upper abdomen, back and lower abdomen around stomach/pelvis. She has referred me to gynae so have to wait upto 6 weeks for appt
I dnt understand as I heard them say at scan cyst in right ovary. Now I'm being told it's not even on ovary it's next to it
dnt know if feel better or worse now

Me again and yes I did have a CT and an MRI as well as the ultrasound. Each is better for different types of cyst and gives a differant view anyway. It is not unusual...

All you need is yet more confusion.
There are certain types of cyst that resolve when we have a period.
Fluid is but nothing to worry about, it is usually the result of an easily treated infection or slight damage to the tube - cause generally unknown but nothing sinister. Fluid in tube can cause it to swell and give same symptoms as a cyst. In or out of ovary will give same symptoms too.
Next to and in can sometimes be difficult to tell apart untill have time to sit down and study the scans.
The pathway for where cancer is suspected is far shorter than the time you will have to wait for your gynae appointment. If this is the case we are talking days and not weeks.
Write down anything you need to know over the next few weeks, then make two copies one for you and one to give the gynae. Take someone with you if you can.
Always here for you
Big hugs and my thoughts are still with you

To just leave me and say gynae appt takes upto 6 weeks isn't very helpful
