Hi I have been having right lower pain for quite a long time. I was diagnosed with coeliac disease over a year ago and since then my symptoms have got worse. I was referred to gynecology and he sent me for a scan and they said there was small 5cm cyst. I then recieved a letter saying I was having a laparoscoy which is on Monday. Since february I have been in agony my perios have stopped which isn't normal for me. I am very bloated and feel dizzy alot. Has anyone else felt like this?

    Hi hun,

My cyst also stopped my periods and I was in excruciating pain a lot of the time up until I had it removed. I also looked like I was 6 months pregnant! I had no appetite and also found I was going for a wee a lot more than normal.

Good luck for your laparoscopy, I hope it all goes well!

Thanks.I feel like that when I look in the mirror I am sure I look pregnant. I had a laparoscoy about 7 years ago for my appendix and can't remember what they are like? How long did you take off work?

They normally make 3 cuts about an inch maximum and use tools to take things out smile

I ended up having a laparotomy (where they cut the bikini line) but that was because my cyst was 12cm! I've been told 3-4 weeks for a laparoscopy and 5-6 for laparotomy but it also depends on how well you heal etc.

Crikey that's big! Did you know you were having that done before it was done or was it a decision on the day?

They told me before my op it would be keyhole (with a possiblility of having to cut) but the decision was made as soon as he put the telescope in!
