Ovarian cyst

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've been having symptoms of feeling bloated and sicky, abdominal discomfort, lower right back pain, pressure on pelvic area for over a month I had a ultrasound today and discovered a small blood filled cyst in my right ovarie, got told to make a appointment in 6-8 weeks to make sure it gone by itself but can't stop panicking that it won't and worrying could be cancer, although I try say to myself I'm only 17! Anyone else had this?

    Hi hollie.

Please try not to worry, it would be very unlikely that it is cancer. From what you have said i dont think you have any concerns other than making sure your not in any pain. See your own gp to get any medication you need to keep your pain at bay. With a bit of luck when you go for tour next scan it might have gone. Please please please dont worry. Read other peoples stories on here (it might help you).

    Take care

Hi, most ovarian cysts are rarely cancerous, I've just had one removed that was thought to be suspicious when I'd had a CT scan but the biopsy results have come back normal. I've had six of these pesky things removed now so getting a dab hand. You get to know the familiar niggles and pains caused by cysts. It sounds like everything is being done correctly, chances are that your cyst will have disappeared by the time you go for a re-scan, most of them do as thats the natural cycle. Some are just stubborn and continue to grow but you'll be monitored regularly so try and keep calm and go with the flow. Ovarian cysts seem to be quite common.

Yes your young, and I read where cysts are common in younger women.

    But, please get checked.
