Ovarian cyst but in excruciating pain

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi, I had a scan last week, and they found a cyst on left ovary which has bled.

I have every ovarian cancer symptom. Eg

Bloated tummy, pain, tiredness (wake up exhausted) really bad tummy pains now and diarrhoea, nausea, and feel dizzy.

Can this be more?

I have really bad lower back pain

I dint know whether to wait until doc tomorrow or call hospital.

I personally would wait. I have all those symptoms every month with my cyst. Your doctor will possibly give you something for the pain. I was given memafamic. It works as a anti inflammatory and pain killer.

However if you are in huge pain you could go to the hospital.

Hi Jessica - I'm sorry you're dealing with this unfortunate cyst. Mine always bled too and it caused instense pain.

First, don't panic and assume you have anything more drastic than the cyst they diagnosed on scan...in my experience, the dreadful symptoms you're describing can all be attributed to the cyst - I honestly used to think it was my appendix bursting...that's how intense the pain was for me. Also, bloating, yes, back pain, awful, tired, of course...all that you described were normal symptoms for me with cysts. And I've had so many, I lost count.

However -- if you are suddenly having abrupt, intense pain that is worse than the last time you were scanned/saw your provider, please call the Nurse Advice line at your local clinic or hospital and get their advice. Calling Nurse Advice is a very good option when you're not sure if you should see emergency care. Also, if you're running a fever with abdominal pain, always seek emergency care.

If I were you and I were that unsettled about what my symptoms are, I would write down all of my questions so I could ask my provider at my next appointment. The doctors I see are excellent about explaining to me why it's unlikely to be a certain diagnosis or when it's appropriate to rule out another possible diagnosis. I always feel more reassured after an appointment...almost always. Everyone should be their own health care advocate. Doctors are human and can only do so much without our input or questions.

I hope you begin to feel better very soon, Jessica. Take care.
