Ovarian cyst + elevated CA 125

About a month ago i posted about a cyst i had. Well, I went to see my gynecologist, and she ordered a TVS, they found that my cyst is 17.2 x 2.1 x 17 cm (pretty big) and that my endometrial stripe is thickened at 2.04 cm. Also, my tumor markers showed my Cancer Antigen 125 level to be high at 84, has this happened to anyone? My doctor didn't explain anything and I was in shock, I'm assuming, I didn't process everything so I forgot to ask questions. Has anyone had a similar experience? Should i be concerned?

Yes my first ca125 was 65 second one was 85 I didnt have cancer my cyst was 37 cm one of my surgeons said bigger than a basketball. You are going to have to have it removed a gyno oncologist is the best surgeons. Make a list of questions for the next time you see your doc and you can ask us anything on here and if you read a lot of these post it will help too.

Thank you so much! I'm so nervous about it all, but reading everyones threads is helping me a lot. This is just a bit scary, I just turned 21 and don't have children, so the thought of losing an ovary, or having anything affect my fertility terrifies me.

From what I have read on here having one ovary and tube removed shouldnt prevent you from having kids. Try not to be afraid your going to be fine. When they put you under It will seem like you were asleep for minutes and it will be over. They will give you something for pain.Did the doctor say when they want to see you again? keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Yes, she referred me to another gynecologist and she mentioned the new dr would be in charge of my surgery, but that I had to get it out soon to prevent ovarian torsion.

Gyno oncologists are the best if there is any possibility that its cancer. The waiting is the hardest part. If you have any questions ask. Your going to be fine.

Hmm my CA125 was 78 that time and the mass was around 28cm after removed. It turn out to be a borderline tumor which is not cancerous but sadly they had to removed one side of my ovary and tube.

I was told by my gynecologist that as long as my CA125 result isn't as high as 1000++ they wouldn't suspect that it's cancerous hence its most likely a borderline. No matter what it's best to remove it asap before there is any complications smile

my CA125 level was 212 and Fred was 40cm when taken out 3 weeks ago. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy including both ovaries and my omentum as agreed by the gyno oncologist if Fred was anything other than beign

Mine turned out to be a mucinous borderline tumor. No further surgery required..

Are u going to be having any further check up's at your hospital

Thanks to all of you for your comments! I just got referred to a different doctor- again. This time it is an oncologist gynecologist, hopefully I can get my surgery scheduled soon. The dr mentioned a complete hysterectomy, so I'm really hoping it's not malignant.
