Ovarian Cyst Removed

Posted , 5 users are following.

I had an ovarian cyst removed last Wednesday! My recovery is going great except my left shoulder is killing me and it's setting into my back. I have called the doctor so much asking all these questions and I really don't want to have to call them again but do y'all know when I could go get adjusted?

Pain in the shoulder is very common if you had laproscopic surgery. I had it in June and had the same issue. The gas they pump in your abdomen to see settles in your diaphram and neck. It will absorb and dissipate. Mine took about a week to go away with day 2 and 3 being horrendous. I had to lay flat on my back with a heating pad. All the best with your recovery!

Thank you! Yeah I figured it was the gas but I figured it would have been over by now! I haven't needed pain pills for my stomach it's all been for my pain in my shoulder!

Yes it's definitely the gas that has settled there, it's a well known cause of pain after laparoscopy. It should ease off soon. We can't win can we !

I googled what was going to happen with my surgery and I recommend not to look it up, because everything i read was wrong! but what they will do if its laparoscopic...you will either have 2 or 3  incisions in your stomach. I have one in my belly button and one to left about 3 inch and same on the right side. They will knock you out for it! I'm highly scared of needles so I acuatlly was a wake when I went back to the room. They gave me a gas mask to help knock me out so they could get the iv in (Im glad they done that!).

For my shoulder pain...Im a week and 2 days since i had surgery...the pain in my shoulder is much worse. Nothing is working at all. I can take a bath until after Wednesday! But I have tried every trick in the book except get a massage (Dont have the money for that). I would make sure to ask them what to do for shoulder pain so you can be prepared!
