Ovarian cysts in perimenopause

I've been having abdominal cramps and back pain for a while so I made an appointment with my ob/gyn. I had an ultrasound done which revealed ovarian cysts on both sides but the right side has one that's pretty big. My cycles are short, 21days, sometimes 19days. My dr said these cysts are harmless but definitely causing some pain. He said either wait and watch to see if cycles get longer and cysts dissolve or try Mirena the IUD. I am not sure what to do? Is anyone else dealing with this type of pain? I never had issues with ovarian cysts before until last 3-4 months. Perimenopause can really bring on some crazy symptoms.

Hi,
I also found out I had ovarian cysts, one large, one smaller. I did the wait and see, they didn't change at all in 6 months. As they stayed pretty stable though and are just on the borderline of being a bit too big I decided to leave it - for now. I have recently been back to the ob gyn as I started to have to have digestive issues also which seem to coincide with different stages of my cycle. The cysts are again fractionally bigger. I also had quite short cycles, but I cannot say whether the pain is due to the cysts or hormonal stuff, but I do get lower back pain and bad cramping at different times of the month - not constant thankfully. She didn't suggest anything cyst wise other than I could have the lot taken out - seems a bit much but I am thinking better the devil you know!! perimenopause in just the worst!
