I know post menopausal there is a higher risk of cancer because I was worried about that too. I am 40yo, had a hysterectomy at 35yo.

I am on my way to the ER because the pain has moved into my back and when I called the physician he wants to make sure I don't have a torsion at this point.

I am 51 and had a cyst removed in August. They also took out my ovaries and tubes and did a d&c as my uterine lining was showing to think for a post menopauseal woman. They did not have to remove it all but I did not want to ever deal with a ovarian cyst again. Farwell to my ovaries don't miss them at all

Thanks for your feedback, I got the results from my ultrasound .

My cyst is very small and not cancerous so we will monitor it and

my GP has referred me to a  gynolcologist .

I am not the type of person to take out organs if they are good. Was told uterus and ovaries are in good shape.

We will see what the future brings, I have been dealing with nausea/lightheadedness that is chalked up to a mystery illness for the last while. My GP said maybe this can be the culprit to my syptoms. We will see what gyn. says, did you deal with any symptoms ?

How did you find out you had a cyst and was it large?

I too have a cyst on my left ovary and doc wants to see me on Saturday.  They could not see the right ovary but my pain is equal on that side so maybe they will order an MRI or something to see both?  No idea what they will do.  Had uterine ablation done in '07...have regualr cramps 20 days out of 30 ugh.  I am 50.

      Hi didi

My dr told me I had a small cyst but when I picked up my results it showed 6 cm right ovary cyst.

To me this is not small but not huge either, other then this report from my ultrasound says that my uterus and ovaries are looking great.

I am in my 50"s and a post menopause period.

The cyst is not cancerous so we will monitor it and I will see an gynnaecologist .

If I get out I will still leave my ovaries in there is no need to remove since they still help with hormonal balance.

Have you been told how yours came to be at your age I wound guess you started menopause ?

Do you have symptoms , not sure if this is the reason but I have had nausea for the last year with all tests showing negative. So maybe my GP says this could be the culprit of my symptoms ?
