Ovarian Dermoid Cyst, back pain, unable to lose weight, chin hair

Hello

I am having keyhole surgery to remove a 8cm dermoid cyst on my left ovary in 4 weeks time.

I have struggled recently to lose weight, I exercise 4-5 times a week which is a mixture of weights and cardio with a healthy diet.  On top of this I have had cronic back pain for years and recently it has gotten worse, which makes the exercising really uncomfortable.

My questions are:-

1/ did anyone else before there opersation find it hard to lose weight? and did you notice a difference after the operation?

2/ Has anyone else suffered with bad back pain and did the pain become less after the operation?

3/ in the last 8 years I have been getting dark hair growing on my chin which I have spent a few hundred pounds getting removed (i have had blood tests and they have come back clear) and its still on going.  Did anyone else have the hair growth problem

What I am hoping is that they are related to the cyst as the doctor said at my hospital appointment that this cyst has been growing for a long time.

I would like to hear is others have experienced what I have over the years and what happened after you had your cyst removed.

Thanks

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems. Just a couple of things - one, what do you mean by 'healthy diet' and, two, what blood test did you have?

The immovable weight gain and chin hair sound more like PCO's to me. All the exercise in the world won't shift that.

My OH has two daughters. One suffered for years with undiagnosed PCO's. Her sister got into healthy eating and exercise (in a BIG way!) and, with her help she turned her life around. A regular 'diet' won't do it. The dieticians have it all wrong with the 'wholemeal toast and low-fat spread' rubbish.

If you think it might help I could PM you with more details.

      Hello

Thanks for your reply, I have had blood test for PCO as thats what I though was causing the hair on my chin and they came back clear, on both oaccassions (two year apart) the test showed I was sligt annemic.

Healthy diet, I eat lots of vegetables and salads and rearly have any thing deep fried, i.e. salmon, lean mince, chicken etc.

I thought that perhaps my cyst was also causing these symptoms as well, as the chin hair has only been a problem for the last 8-10 years and I was told that this cyst has been there for a long time.

If you could PM me that would be great!
