Ovary cyst

I have a 9cm cyst found out last weekend, I have just attended a&e due to my pain levels and having pain now on my left side and the doctor who I had was lovely!

She went to look at my scan last week which they done my whole tummy so they have said nothing would of grown in just a week on my left had side which is good and she explained to me what the person who done my ultra sound put in his report which I didn't really know, I think I was told fully but just with all pain meds I was on I don't really remember ... so she has said that ....

I have a simple cyst

It's nice and round

Doesnt look to to have any lumps of bumps which is good

She said it doesn't have a blood supply to it which is good

So I am guessing all above things are resureing that it's not cancerous if that's what the person who done my scan wrote in his report??

Just such a worrying time right

Now.

If its a simple cyst (just filled with fluid) they just watch it. You have to schedule an appt with an obgyn within 4 to 6 weeks. To see if it reduces in size. If it continues to grow theyll have to remove it. Mine was 4 cm but it shrunk to 2cm and it still was there 3 months after but i heard cancer doesnt shrink by itself so i doubt its anything serious! Just remember to have a follow up to see if it has shrunk

I have to have a CT scan as they can't tell from ultra sound if it's fluid but I have free fluid on my right side anyway which they are saying has likely came out the cyst. And they have already said about operating because of the size of it. X

But the person who done scan had put it is simple cyst and all the other things I put on my post.

Which I'm guessing are all good thing?

Yeah anything over 5 cm is usually operated on. Im amazed they didnt do a ct scan. They did one for me because i had a lot of fluid too. And it was just a cyst. Well if he put simple means there where no solid parts or blood flow which is a good thing!

And well drs like to watch just in case it shrinks because most of the time they do but that big i see why they will operate

I am having a ct scan just waiting for an appointment to come through. My ct scan should be next week as they wanted it down in 2 weeks.

Doctor in a&e told me last night when I went in about pain on my left side (cyst on right side) she told me that the person who done scan from his report he had put that there is no blood supply to it and there doesn't look to be any lumps and bumps - does this sound like a simple cyst to you? X

If it had no blood flow yes and if it was full of liquid yes you didnt ask for copies of the report? I do just to have them so i know what they found. It does sound like a simple cyst.

How strange i also had pain in my left cyst on the right. I asked why that was and they were pretty vague about it. Like ovaries are.strange things

They have said Doesnt look to have blood flow which that they can tell from ultra sound.

They said they can't tell if it's fluid base that's why I am having ct scan.

But they have said I have free fluid on my right side which when I spoke to my GP on Wednesday he said that is probably has came out of cyst which says to me that the fluid has came from the cyst ...??? What do you think??

No I didn't ask, I should of really. Wish I did ask for a copy.

The doctor said last night on report it says it looks like a simple cyst and that's what's on my discharge paperwork from last weekend and it says simple cyst on the paperwork my GP got too.

They will do another ultrasound to check if the cyst has grown or shrunk. Have they given you a date to go back?

I had a cyst on my left ovary. Found after a woke in agony one morning, so my doctor got me an emergency appointment with the gyne. They did an ultrasound and found that I had a cyst. They did a blood test to rule out cancer that was a CA125 blood test. A few days later I had another ultrasound and my cyst had shrunk. Turns out that the pain I had been in must of been the cyst bursting. Don’t worry they will keep their eye on you and do what is best for you. I have since had let another ultrasound and was told I have endometriosis. I have an appointment in a couple of weeks to discuss that.

It’s a worrying time and my word the pain is horrendous but by the sounds of what the doctor said everything is looking okay. If they was worried they would of kept you in and operated x

Thank you very much for your reply!  I have to have a CT scan and then I go back to see the doctor for them to decide what they are going to do- probs operate because of the size of mine.

I woke up one day in so much pain A last Saturday and went to a&e and they think mine had twisted but untwisted and is what caused me so much pain.

I have had that blood test and it all came back within normal range.

Thank you for your resureancce! X

That’s good that you will be having a cyst scan and that they are sorting the cyst out. The twisting of the cyst is exactly what happened to me but I was lucky enough that mine burst. The pain was unbearable as I’m sure you know. Hopefully you will be cyst free very soon x

Yes that pain was so bad! Since mine has untwisted pain is a lot better. Still have pain where the cyst is at bottom of tummy.

Past week I haven't really been hungry and have not ate that much and not drank that much and I've lost weight ... should I be worried ?? I've been in bed most of the time but been very stressed!

I would put that down to being stressed. Stress effects us all differently, no appetite, not sleeping properly etc. It’s a worry when something is going on in our body and we don’t know everything that’s going on. The doctors should really explain things properly with us. I was in pain for quite a few days after my cyst burst. It’s the best place for you to be.  Try not to stress xx

You think I don't need to worry about the weight loss?? Like I said I haven't eaten and drank that much for past week. I've eaten every day but like 1 small meal.

      I agree it's really worrying!

I've been sleeping a lot. I have had much of an appetite at all.

      Should I

Be worried about the weight loss?

Yesterday was the first day I actally felt hungry and so did my tummy!
