Ovary cyst symptoms

Posted , 4 users are following.

I was diagnosed with a ovary cyst about 10cms on my right side at start of January.  I am only 23 years old.

I had a ultra sound and they showed -

- a simple cyst

-doesn't seem to have a blood supply

-doesn't seem to have lumps and bumps

- it's round

Also all my bloods including tumor markers are all within normal range.

I only found out I had a cyst because I attended a&e is so so much pain and was told it had twisted but untwisted. I had a CT scan on the 16th January and I am due to see specialist on the 30th of this month.

I keep having lower back pain and pain at the top of my right thigh including some pain right side and pain left side even though cyst is on my right side and I also have pain when I pass unrine- that pain is on my lower part of my tummy.

I also get bloated as well but I do have IBS as well.

Is the symptoms I have including lower back pain and thigh pain normal for a cyst? Well are all the symptoms I have said normal for a cyst?

I had CT scan on 16th and if anything showed up like cancer or something else apart from a cyst would they have contacted me by now instead of waiting 2 weeks?? Would they of moved my appointment forward? I'm just worrying so much!

Any advice and help would be so helpful. I'm so scared.

I'm only 23 so I'm worried.

I am in a similar situation, I have 2 large cysts (1 on left ovary 8.5 x 7.5cm and 1 in right fallopian tube 9.5cm x7. 5cm) confirmed on USS on 4/1/18 so I was referred to gynaecology who I saw 9/1/18 and said he wanted to discuss at MDT, which was 16/1/18. At that meeting they decided to get an MRI scan to see what is in the cysts as the USS was inconclusive. I had the scan on Wednesday 24/1/18 and had a call yesterday 25/1/18 to say that they will discuss again at MDT meeting on Tuesday 30/1/18 and booked me appointment to see consultant on 31/1/18.

I am petrified, as it took less than 24 hours to get back. I really feel for you xxx

      Oh I feel for you!

My ultra sound showed what looks like a simple cyst, but they still wanted tumor markers (cancer blood test) done which results are within all normal range. And I've had CT scan.

Could they not tell by your ultra sound?

I haven't heard anything since my scan which would be 2 weeks this Tuesday I had it done. I knew from the day I got told I had a cyst that I would be seen by the specialist after my CT scan.... so do I take that as a good thing that they haven't contacted me sooner??

I hope everything is ok for you and keep me updated. X

Personally I would think that is good as I had CA 125 and were raised slightly. The USS report showed the cysts but unsure of what was inside them (blood, solid form etc) hence the

MRI scan, and now they have reported that in less than 24 hours!

I am imagining the worst possible then anything less will definitely be a bonus.

They say no news is good news so fingers crossed for you,

Definitely keep in touch along our journeys.

      Hi hun

Sorry I had to call an ambulance on Friday evening due to agonising pain, and have been admitted.

They sat that they want to control the pain with drugs until they can arrange elective surgery to remove 1 or both cysts. They do not want to do it as an emergency as I need open surgery and they said they are best equipped for this with the full gynaecological surgery team rather than an emergency surgery team.

And I can't go home until I have had surgery, so it has been taken out of my control.

      Still worried though xx
