I have had graves for 5 yrs and had rai in july 2009. I was not put on carb after at all. I then went profoundly underactive in oct 2009. I started on thyroxine straight away and have had probs with this since around june this year due antibodies so I am starting again back on carbimazole and thyroxine to block and replace! Think you will feel good shortly it just takes time to balance. Advice would be to get regular blood tests and if you are tired and slow heart rate etc get to the docs as you are prob going under!
Good luck xx

I'm sorry about your panic attacks. I sometimes get them in the middle of the night when I can't sleep. Are you feeling a bit better after the rai?
I suppose it's early days yet. Take care.
Dave. You were asking about block and replace. I was fine when I was on that. If they block your thyroid and stop it working altogether then they know exactly how much thyroxine to give you. Otherwise they're trying to balance the amount of thyroxine they give you with the amount that's being produced by your thyroid which will vary as the thyroid's not working properly.
Hope everyone is ok.
Take care.

barry/marigold, i used to suffer from panic attacks and anxiety all the time, then it would flick to parania! i know it doesnt help much but it is a normal symptom and you just got to dig in

My eyes are sore, and I sometimes have difficulty swallowing properly if I'm eating something dry. but apart from that I'm ok.
I have to come off all medication in three months and see what happens. I'll know then whether the rai has worked.I wish I could just stay on the block and replace, but I'll have to come off the carbimazole at some point.
Dave, I was wondering what had happened to Elaine too. I hope she's ok.
Take care everybody.
