Overactive bladder since unprotected sex? I CANT STOP PEEING AT NIGHT

Ever since I had unprotected sex with this girl, my penis has been slightly red and I have had an overactive bladder. I used to have smelly urine and it was a bit cloudy. I got rid of the cloudiness by quitting the sugar and limiting my carbs. Whenever I drink alcohol, the redness comes back a bit more and my bladder is shifted into overdrive. What's wrong with me? Gp referred me to a urologist and it's going to take 1-1.5 years to be seen sad

Don't have an STD or a UTI

    Could be any of the above as urinary urge is common with both.

    Did your GP test you for anything? The doctor could have run a panel test on you for STDs or UTI just via a urine test. I’m sorry but this does not make sense to me.

      Hello Steven,

      I've been tested several times for UTIs, STIs and UTIs, all of which came back negative. I'm wondering if the issue could be yeast related.

      Good news that you are std free, based on your tests. To me your symptoms sound like they could be yeast related, as you are pointing out. Sensitivity to alcohol (carbs) and cloudy urine (yeast can be seen in the urine) make sense. 

      Have you been checked for Candida (yeast overgrowth in the body)? Look up some of the symptoms.

      I’m no medical expert but if your tests see coming back clean, it’s time to look someplace else. Do you have a white tongue or anything else?

      I've always had a white tongue. It's quite common apparently. I feel as though I may have yeast in my bladder, which scares me a little. I was obsessed with "yeast overgrowth" for months, but apparently everyone has it to some sort of degree.

    Hello,

    Really try to sustain from woman until you figure this out. Blood work and diet will get to root cause. Also get kit at local drug store and test yourself for type II diabetes. Its good you stay on top of this.

    Hi! Speaking from experience, this does sound like a yeast infection to me. I had a UTI that I treated with antibiotics, which are infamous for giving people yeast infections.

    Anyways, when we tested after the meds, it came back negative for a UTI, but I was still having to pee all the time! My vagina looked red and was sore to the touch, similar to how you describe your penis as feeling.  The doc at the walk-in clinic diagnosed me on the spot.

     I'd ask to get checked for a yeast infection, and in the meantime buy some canesten CREAM- while it won't cure it, it will reduce symptoms in the meantime, and it won't harm you if you don't end up having a yeast infection!

      Hey Chloe,

      I bought some fluconazole online around a month back and saw some slight improvements. I used Canesten Dual Action 1% w/w cream for a bit and noticed some improvements too. I just had red bloody patches around my foreskin so I stopped applying it. What antifungals would you recommend?
