Hi all, maybe any one can help me, my story:

I was diagnosed yesterday with overactive thyroid and given Carbimazole 15mg per day and leaflet about Hyperthyroidism this is that GP diagnosed.

So I went home and read all, I get shoked and panicked. Reason why I went into the GP was swollen neck lymph left side bottom of the neck

they took my blood and told me to wait for surgeon appointment. Nothing about appointment to see endocrinologist. I dont know what to do now maybe any one can advise? Symptoms I only have skin itching all over for about 2 years I think this is allergy, swollen lymph I dont think this is symptom. (male 31)

    Hi

I have just been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I have had skin itching for months and also stammered with my words and got muddled with words. I have been referred to a specialist (which may well be a surgeon or endocrinologist) for an ultrasound. I have a goitre (swollen thyroid gland). Why dont you check with your doctor what's happening. Anxiety/panic can be part of the symptoms.

Hi, Its sounds like you may have a goitre though im not an expert but, this is probarbly the reason for your hyperthyroidism I had a goitre on both sides but this has since shrunk since haveing rai. Itchy skin can be a symptom & there are many others some people have a lot & some hardly any. I hope you get to see endocrinologist soon. Elaine.
