Overall question...

Over the past 7-8 months I have been experiencing strong fatigue, stiffness in my legs and truck, insomnia, and within the last month I have completely lost swing in my right arm.

Several days ago I visited a movement disorder specialist, that I was referred to by my primary doctor, and he is saying it’s a functional movement disorder.  I am new to all this, and I’m not really comfortable with that diagnosis considering my symptoms. Would a second opinion be a good place to start???

Thanks!!

A second opinion is a good idea and maybe with a scan of the shoulder, what's your age ?

You need to rule in or out neurological (aka brain) disorders and rheumatological (aka autoimmune) disorders. You might have neither, or you might have both. The fatigue is often a sign of an autoimmune disease. A good Rheumatologist can run all sorts of blood tests to evaluate you for these types of diseases. It might be a good idea to see a general neurolgist as well, not just a movement specialist.
