Ovestin (oestriol) and Clobetasol topical application

Posted , 3 users are following.

Recently had annual check up with gynacologist who prescribed Ovestin and Clobetasol mixed together and applied topically 3 times a week.  For the past year, I had been using Advantan fatty ointment (Methylprednisolone).  Has anyone on this forum used this combination?

Interesting combination. I use Ovestin 3 times a week and Betnovate once a day for a week every 3-4 weeks as I feel it necessary (GP's instructions). Never heard of mixing the 2. I have an applicator to apply Ovestin cream internally and obviously you wouldn't do that with steroid. Also my GP has always told me to apply the steroid on top of any other moisturizing creams so as not to spread it anywhere but where you want it to go. I am sure your gynae has good reason to suggest this though. Please let me know how you get on with that regime.

I started with emuaid, but became used to it so it didn't work as well. I now use a varied selection of castor oil mixed with lavender oil, coconut oil, emuaid and calendula nappy cream (all learned from this forum)! I wash with epaderm, never any soap. I also swab with a borax solution when I feel extra irritation. I am in remission at the moment and the steroid (Betnovate) really helped to bring this about plus it unfused a small area.
