Pain!!!

Hello!

I am after some more advice please! I was diagnosed with PSA with AS early on this year. I am currently signed off work, due to pain, anxiety and fatigue. I have just started my methotrexate through injections, after trying to take it via tablets and ending up feeling very sick! I am taking regular paracetamol, Tramadol and Gabapentin for the pain and am on a course of steroids. My inflammatory markers are normal, yet I am still in pain!! My doctor mentioned fusing in the base of my spine when I saw her last week. If this is the case, would that cause a sharp and heavy pain? It seems to hurt more after sitting still, walking and standing still. My other joints only seem to hurt when I am using them. I am also very lethergic.

Thank you in advance x

    Hi girls,

had my 1st Stelara shot yday, as yet no unpleasant side effects. I felt a little snuffley last night like I was developing a cold but other than that nothing. Mind you, I'm still on 10mg Prednisolone which could be skewering things. Thank you for the iinfo Kupcake - I'm changing my rheumatologist. He has a great rep with RA but I've been through he'll since 2011 - methotrexate induced hepatitis, allergy to sulphasalazine, horrific flare of psoriasis whilst taking Enbrel and Humira failing, so Stelara is my final drug available on the NHS.

On a positive note, had a wonderful day today at the pantomime with 2 of the grandchildren. How I value the good days now.

happy and peaceful Christmas, ladies and thank you for your help over the past few weeks, means a lot to me. God bless xxxx

      Hello!  smile

I am not sure when I start and I am a little worried about it. My head teacher said it would be this month. I dont know how I am going to manage as I am struggling to sit for long periods and am so tired. I am still off sick from the other job at school so am really unsure how I can start my new role while being off. Does it mean that if I start my new role, I have to go back to work in the other one? My other role has been reduced to 3 mornings, but I am not sure that my body is up to it. I am still getting a lot of pain in my back, my hip is now playing up and my legs are still very weak and I am finding it hard and painful to walk!!!

Sorry, this all sounds very negative doesnt it. Think its a bit of a panic as my methotrexate doesnt seem to be working. I will get my new dose of it on Tuesday. Am concerned that it will make me feel more sick though. Also all of my blood results seem to be coming back higher. My ALT/AST has gone up to 95 and 72 the week after. My platelets, Lymphocytes, Creatine, WBC and Neutrophils have crept up too! Is this normal when you are on Methotrexate? x
