Pain 10 days after anal skin tag removal and hemorrhoid banding

Posted , 4 users are following.

I had surgery 10 days ago - hemorrhoid banding (4 internal) and removal of an anal skin tag. I didnt expect it to be so painful! The last few days I wake up feeling fine, but the moment I have a BM, its like the gates of heπŸ’πŸ’ open up. Im taking ibuprofen and warm salt baths, but am exhausted. Has anyone gone through this and when will the pain subside?

    hi betty

sorry to hear your going through it all. each person is different so you can find yourself getting better within 4 weeks some say after 6 weeks and others have a much longer recovery time. my suggestion is to avoid using ibuprofen instead if its safe for you to do so use paracetamol instead as ibuprofen can bind you and slows down gut transition etc.... keep your bowels soft stay active as much as you can (no heavy lifting, extensive workouts etc) keep the area clean and dry . sodacream is useful to apply if you havent already. finally am sure you have been told/aware plenty of fluids ie water!

reach out if you want a chat or have any questions .

    take care x

Each person is different my sister and I both had to have this done. I had my surgery feburary 25th. The pain was God awful. Pain I've never fealt before. I am this far out and still fear my bowel movements. I had 3 small areas repaired and one large. It is still painful to have a bowel movement and alI can hope for is an end to this discomfort. I dont even remember what it's like to have a normal bowel movement. Not trying to scare you at all. As I said, each person heals differently. Fiber and plenty of liquids. When you think you drank enough, drink another glass. Good luck and hope you heal quickly.
