Pain

I have no TN pain. My pain and discomfort is from nerve damage done from the surgery. It has rained all day and I feel pins and needles sticking my face. I am very grateful to have the awfull pain gone but there is still a lot of issues to deal with daily.

Hi Kathy,  you don't say what surgery you had and when it was done.  I had Gamma Knife a year ago in July.  The TN was pretty bad for 3 months then it became permanent, it was excruciating all the time and I really could not cope.  Then on 1st March I woke up and had no pain, since then my face on the left side has gone totally numb from the top of my head to my chin I could draw a line straight down and 1 half has no feeling and the other is fine.  I also have a numb mouth and half my tounge, I have lost my taste on that side.

I can somtimes feel something itching on the numb side but cannot scratch it and if I am in the sun for any length of time I do have pins and needles in my face it is also sensitive to cold.

I do hope this is helpful but the main thing is I feel a different person without the pain.  Just am still scared it will return!  Wishing you all the best.  Sally
