PAIN

Thankyou all for the reply's.

The CBD oil works when the pain is running at about 65% but when its really hammering i go back to my painkillers but maybe i need a stronger oil, i will look into it.

Painkillers or oil and a hot bath relieve things at night.

Does anyone put their wrists and elbows under a running tap as hot as you can stand. Its something i do and it feels lovely. All painkillers whatever it may be is allways sbort term until your next lot.

When i was in hospital when i was diagnosed with RA one of the nurses who bad worked on the Rhuematoid ward for years and years took me to one side and said you've got this for life so do what works for you. I remember crying that day but it was the best bit of advice ive ever had. Quite often at night in bed i will put tubigrip bandages on all my sore joints.

End up looking like a mummy but it provides some relief. I do wonder what my wife thinks sometimes but she's great. She's my best friend to. Believe it or not she was my very first g/f a secondary school. We split after a while as these things happen when your 14 but we met again yrs later and here we are. Still loved up.

Im 60 now and was 44 when i was in hospital.

It has got worse and i'm probably daft for still going to work but i do and i will for as long as i can. Today's been hard but tomorrow might be better. Just watched great british bake off stand up to cancer, a little girl called Eve had cancer, fought on for yrs and eventually died.

Sat there and thought stop moaning there but for the grace of God. I know everythings relative and we all hurt on here but its our pain and at least we can try and do something about it.

Well i'l stop yapping on now but cheers all for your kind reply's to my posts.

    What is CBD oil?

      Hello

cbd oil is the extract from a certain plant. Some ppl smoke stuff to get a high from the same plant that starts with the letter C.

Well the oil extract doesnt make you high it just offers you pain relief. You take it orally, it doesnt taste very nice but it does work for some people and its not harmful to you in any way.

HI Gaz, Thanks for update. 10 mg Mtx and 1 month on humira and pain much improved this week though I have something with my shoulder that screams 10/10 pain when I lift arm. But hey, grateful for decreased joint pain. I run the shower as hot as I can stand it and it helps. I also run the tap over hands and wrists. I bet a lot of us do. Keep trying the oil. If I am desperate, I take a pain pill at night. That way I sleep and am not groggy the next day. Thanks for sharing on this forum. I feel like you all are my friends. Take care.

Nice story Gaz,.   There are a great many  RA sufferers around the world with varying levels of severity, I am lucky to have very good doctor care here in Canada at a very low cost probably similar to the UK NHS.

I just wanted to comment on your paragraph about running hot water over your wrists and elbows.    Before I was diagnosed with RA I suffered from an extreme skin itch on my hands possibly caused by years of working with chemicals when I was a car mechanic,  too stupid to wear protective gloves.   Also I have always been a guitarist, for fun now but once for a living,  the RA is a problem as my fingers stiffen and it takes a little time to loosen them up.......I discovered some time ago that running my hands under hot water, just to the point of being unbearable was more than helpful for the itch and now the joint flexibility.....  the relief was awesome....I thought I should tell my skin specialist in case I was doing myself harm and he described the feeling perfectly......orgasmic......

I friends who laugh at me at parties because they will find me in the kitchen doing dishes.  They think what a nice person I am, little do they know, it's the hot water LOL!  Do they not have you on a biologic?  I think it would help you a lot!

Hi Gaz, have you tried adding Epsom salts to a bowl of hot water, I sometimes soak my feet in it when they are painful and also in the bath, gives some relief. Best wishes.

Hi Gaz. I enjoyed your story. My husband says it's like sleeping with Michael Jackson when I have tubigrip and wrist splints on in bed !!!! Haha. I also tried a frozen gel pad on my wrist a couple of weeks ago. Hurt like hell at the time, but for days after it was pain free. Think I confused the little 'demons' that attack the joint. I hope you continue to feel better and glad you are seeing results from the alternatives.......👍
