Do any of you experience knife like stabbing pain in your buttock along with spotting? And how long can spotting possibly go on? Thanks for all your feedback.

The pain sounds like sciatica. Does it shoot down your leg? May not be connected with the spotting. I get sciatic pain and it can be horrible. Alternate ice & heat and google stretches to do for sciatica. They’re helpful. Good luck!

Definitely sounds like sciatica...had it while pregnant several years ago.  Usually left buttock, then down the leg.  Like a lightening bolt!  Do you have lower back problems?  😐

Doesn't shoot down leg. I really don't have serious back problems. My ribs on that same side are tender and achy. Also have pain in the top of my foot on the same side

Is it a lot of spotting?  Perhaps a light period?  I also used to get one sided pain called mittelsmertz, that’s more of an ovary pain, but the pain radiates like an electric shock.  I would call your doc, pain is one thing, but if spotting is new for you...better to be checked out.

Do you by any chance have IBS? I do and at time when I have a flare up, I’ll get sciatica and pain under the ribs - move tends to be right side more than left. As soon as the IBS symptoms subside, the sciatica seems to resolve.

Hi Lucy!  I get the “swelling”. Feeling in my left foot.  Like I’m wearing tight socks...but not.  I would pinch the skin on my outer ankle and not feel it. Weird.
