Hi. I had my gallbladder out last march. Due to it not functioning effectively, and aso some infection in wall of gallbladder.Pain after key hole surgery was well controlled with Paracetamol and voltarol with an occasional dihydrocodeine if needed.I found a hot water bottle very soothing. i was back at work in may.i think pain depends a lot on if you have key hole or open surgery, and if you have stones or not.My consultant said it takes 6months for everything to settle down after operation, and that if i had any problems after 6 months to see gp who would refer me back to consultant if needed. Hope this helps .

      Hi Tracy,

Im sorry your in so much pain.its 3 months since your surgery,so hope things will settle soon.Did your pancreatitis completely setle before your gallbladder came out, just wonder if pain is from pancreas and surgery.I found after my surgery a low fat, no alcohol or spicey food helped to get me pain free. I think for me my body had to learn to cope without so much bile,so having a low fat diet helped this, and also made things easier for my pamcreas to deal with. hope this helps.
