pain all over my body

I have been hurting all over for some time now. I'm very stiff in the morning and it's lasts all day. My daughter climbs on me and it's hurts when she touches me. I'm not sleeping well. I can't stay in a position long because it hurts. Every movement is like I have to use extra effort. I don't climb stairs well. I'm always tired, and I forget what I'm doing. What is going on

Hi there - yes I can relate to everything you say. I have the same symptoms - the pain all the time is very difficult to cope with - especially when it even hurts to lie down in bed. I take paracetamol before I go to bed and they do help a bit. It's very hard for people to understand when you say you literally hurt all over. I've had this for 3 years now - good days and bad days - no two days are the same. Oh to be pain free. Gentle hugs to you x

Hi Linea,
you may or may not know about Fibromyalgia, but I'm afraid it does sound like this to me. Have you spoken to your GP about it? you would need to be referred to a Rheumatologist who will do certain tests etc, to rule out other problems.
I have OA, RA and Fibro, all confirmed by my Rheumy. I have days when I have absolutely no energy at all, get confused and keep forgetting things (Fibro Fog). Pain from Fibro can be one part of the body today and another part tomorrow and so on. Big Gentle Hugs x

Poor love. I think you have surely got fibromalgia. You need to get a proper diagnosis as soon as possible because the worse it gets the harder it is to beat the pain. It took years for me to be diagnosed because my GP thinks fibromalgia doesn't exist, so he wouldn't consider it. I was treated for each symptom individually, but after I finally got a referral to a pain clinic the diagnosis took five minutes. I have tried most pain relief over the years but nothing worked, so I know what it's like to have non-stop pain every day. As you say, impossible to rest in the same position for more than a few minutes without pain, so even sleeping became impossible. Now I have fairly effective pain-relief although I am still very stiff, and climbing stairs is usually done on my hands and knees, and as for the tiredness that is one of the hardest things to bear, although it has got a bit better lately. It is difficult for you with a small child, but try to take naps when you can, because if you get too tired all of the symptoms become worse. Try to get some decent medication as soon as possible because without it the pain will just get worse. I know a lot of people think diet etc can control the symptoms, but all I can say is they have really got very lucky, because the pain I suffered for years was not even dented when I was on 150mg of morphine each day. There are very few medicaments that are effective with fibromalgia, and you need to be advised by a specialist. My GP tried everything, but they were all the wrong things. Once you get the right treatment the pain can be controlled. There is no cure at present for the illness, but it can be made more bearable. Take care, Julia
