Hi Helen. Yes this is normal. I also had no follow up appointment. I got told it could take up to 12mths for things to completly settle. My scar is still tender when pressure is applied ands it's been 7mths. I also had the pain below my wrist. I don't get numbness in my thumb now but i did at 1st. Though sometimes at night i get numbness in my last 2 fingers. I wouldn't worry it's early days for you.

Thar sounds normal. I am 4 months post op now and my hand still feels sore along the incision point, but my strength is returning. You need to allow time and don't rush into doing things that might set you back. For now take things easy. Are you scheduled to see your surgeon after 6 weeks? If you have any other worries in the meantime contact your GP, mine was very supportive.
Good luck

Thanks terry sorry for not replying sooner but only just come across your comment my it will be 4 weeks tomorrow since my surgery and my thumb is still numb and my wrist still hurts. I have no follow up appointments with my surgeon just been told to contact gp which I did last week and they told me this was all normal and to start using my hand more to avoid physio. I can do a number of things now but have to rest otten so I guess I'm going to have to be patient. Thanks again for your advice
