Pain and swelling almost a year after tendon repair in foot

It's been almost a year since I had my breaks tendon repaired in my ankle/foot. I am still having lots of pain and swelling . Pain everyday and swelling never goes away. Has anyone else experienced This? I don't think it's normal but wanted to get some opinions on this before I saw yet another podiatrist. Thanks

    Elizabeth,

I agree that considerable pain and swelling a year after tendon surgery is definitely not normal.

I didn't have tendon surgery but I did injure a tendon (post tibial tendon) in an ankle fracture/sprain. My personal experience is that tendon injuries can be vexing and take a long time to heal. After nearly 1 1/2 years from my accident I am nearly 100%  healed but there are still days when my ankle nudges me to think of the tendon that was banged up.

So I would recommend seeing a good foot and ankle specialist (not for more surgery) to work on healing your problem, and do whatever it takes.
