Pain arising One year After Fistulectomy

Hi everyone, i will try to be as brief as possible smile

I'm a 29-yo male, i work as a financial analyst. In Jan-2016 i was diagnosed with an anal Fissure and a Fistula as well right beside rectum. I had Fistulectomy done in May-2016, 2 weeks on bed and then back to work. Everything was fine for a year, i was careful with diet and did not let myself constipate, took minimal time on the toilet seat, have minimum 6 hours of sleep, i used the ring shaped cushions to sit for work and driving. However.....

1 year later in mid-2017 i started having pain again from time to time, very mild pain and irritation/pulsating around the rectum. But yet it is there. It arises when i'm stressed at work and  sitting for longer times both with and without the ring-shaped-cushions. And when that happens i do a sitz bath to relax my rectum and go to bed earlier than usual and everything is fine the next day until the same thing happens again next week. sad

I have some big questions in my mind and i have not visited a doctor yet.

question 1) I feel that my surgery area is weak now, is there something i can do to strengthen that or i have to live with it forever? Will i not be 100% normal again? or how can i get rid of this forever?

question 2) Will i need to use the ring shaped cushions for sitting all my life?

question 3) Is there something i've missed doing, or i'm doing it wrong?

question 4) Is there a cream that i should use whenever i have that mild pain?

question 5) Do i really need to visit the Specialist when i get that mild pain thingy next time?

I don't even know what more questions to ask. I would really appreciate some guidance and support. Thanks a ton!

Cheers,

Dani

I'm not sure about your surgery. But I read somewhere that the ring cushion actually is not good to use. Stress doesn't help either, but how do we stop that? Especially if you're working.

Try Calmoseptine when you get the mild pain. You can order it on Amazon.

But do follow up with your doctor and tell him what's happening.

Why are you using the ring? None of my GI docs recommended it. I would think it would add more stress to the area - doesn't it pull your butt cheeks apart?

I'm sorry you are having this discomfort. If you haven't been seen by your GI doc since the surgery go ahead and have a follow up. Can't hurt.

I had Fistulectomy 1 month ago. I'm so hoping this will be the end of my fissure saga.
