Pain/burning

Morning all,
I haven't been on the site for some time as my recovery has been fantastic, I have a new problem my right hip is painful in my groin but I'm also getting burning in the outside of my hip/thigh, anyone else had this and what treatment/diagnosis where you given, i have been give 3 different reasons for this and after one GP saying she would not refer me I had to wait another 3 weeks to see a different one and now I'm being referred back to original consultant.
As you can imagine I'm not coping very well with this.

Hi Daffi,
You do not say how long out of your op you are. If infection has been ruled out then it could be nerve damage. I had the burning in the thigh the same as you. I was given a short course of Amitryptaline by my GP and it sorted it. Groin pain, there are many reasons why, sometimes just tight muscles. I still get it sometimes usually when I have overdone it and it is down to my muscles tightening up. When i had a query, i emailed my surgeon's secretary and I was given an appointment two weeks later as he decided he wanted to see me to check out a couple of things, so it may be worth talking to your surgeons secretary and you may get an earlier appointment.

Hey hey daffi
I had nerve problems for 3 yrs that cause debilitating burning & pain. Now drs think it’s from bone growth (spurs) in hole nerves run thru in backbone. It has been 3 yrs since both hips replaced. I didn’t have this before last thr so i have my doubts. Im due for nerve block in a month hoping it works well cause I’m tired if pain & pain meds. My nerve pain started few mnths after left hip replacement. Both hips xray fine & have good movment capabilities just have damn pain & burning in left buttock & down leg !!
Hope Drs find & fix your problem soon cause I know the pain that comes from nerve damage is hard on a person !!!
Luv to all
David

Thank you for your reply, the first GP that i saw did say I have nerve damage from my back as i do have back issues as well. This GP thinks that I may have the same damage as I had in my other hip.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had this.
Regards
Sharon

OMG! Daffi:
Reading your post made me want to reply & Tell you to take your laxatives!
On top of not healing as I should be, after an Anterior THR, I got a rectocele/cystocele from being placed on narcotics for 3 yrs. for hip pain. I had no idea until I got so impacted I had to be hospitalized! And now need surgery to repair the damage. I was healthy & fit prior to all these results/effects
