Try taking a soak in the bath before bed followed by a couple of paracetomol.
Hopefully the CT scan may reveal some of the causes of your problems and treatment can be decided upon.

I can understand a lot of what your saying and pain is something i suffer everyday because of arthritis which i have had since the age of 11. I don't have the shoulder and neck pain but suffer in my legs and back. I also grind my teeth and that causes jaw pain. It can be a viscious circle
as pain can cause depression and anxiety can cause pain. There are some drugs that can help with helping you sleep because of pain. Amitriptyline is one and codeine. I have had amitriptyline in the past, thou it causes tiredness. I take codeine now and thou it can make me feel a bit sick it works. I find if i eat a banana with it i am ok. Ask your GP about trying something.Maybe see what the results of the cat scan are first. It could all be anxiety as anxiety can cause many symptoms. Also try relaxing with a warm bath, milky drink and light reading before bed.
Best wishes.
Elizabeth.
